Company Description

The 2020 Chardonnay is a single varietal wine grown locally at Roundtree Vineyard here in Selah. The cool Selah nights and warm days contributed to well-ripened grapes which held their acidity well. During production, the Chardonnay spent 19 months in neutral French oak barrels and underwent partial malolactic fermentation. Doing this softened the edges of the natural acidity giving freshness and character which are evident in its elegant mouthfeel. Due to the use of neutral oak, no oak flavor characteristics are evident, allowing the fruit to shine in the glass. Aromas are delicate with bruised apple and cream. On the palate its gentle flavors glide through yellow apple and pear up front, followed by subtle notes of cinnamon, saline, and lemon custard in the finish. At 3 years of age, this Chardonnay is in a beautiful place.
