FAQ
1. How do I use a duck egg?
Duck eggs can be used in the same ways as a chicken egg! We highlight that they will especially elevate your results when baking cakes, cookies, or even your Sunday morning pancakes, but if you feel like trying an omelet or soft scramble then go right ahead and enjoy the tasty difference. Just watch your cooking time more closely if you decide to fry the duck egg, as they cook faster due to their higher protein content.
2. My egg seems to be dirty and colored?
We have a professional egg cleaning machine that helps ensure that only the best eggs make it to you. After it sorts out the cracked or damaged eggs, it cleans them using a high pH solution to disinfect and a mineral oil wash to polish the outside of the shell and seal in the freshness. We have chosen NOT to bleach our eggs, which would whiten and strip the shell of its natural appearance. This means that our eggs come in an assortment of white, brown, spotted, and even occasionally a green and blue!
3. Where can I get some duck eggs?
Duck Duck Eggs can now be found locally at Elwood Thompson Market and Tom Leonard's Market in Richmond, Virginia and every Harris Teeter store nationwide!
