Company Description
In the 1920's, Jennifer's paternal Great-Grandparents purchased a "40" (a 40 acre plot) in Henagar, Alabama. Jennifer's Great-Grandparents, and Grandparents lived there until the time of their death. Her dad was raised on that land, and Jennifer even lived there for several years while growing up.
Her Grandmother, Betty Silver, was Ella's namesake. Grandma was very much the Matriarch of the family, the glue that held it together. We had Christmas at her house on the property every year, and everyone came. No matter where you were in life, you came to Grandma's house for Christmas, and Grandma always had one of her famous butter cake's ready for the event.
Tyler, Jennifer, James, and Ella will be moving to the property (in fact, into Grandma's house that she and Grandpa bought as a kit from Sear's in the 1940's) in August of this year to begin farming. Our goal is to focus on raising chickens, cows, and vegetables in a responsible manner. We will not take a mechanical approach to farming, but a more balanced approach. We believe that God created the world and that nature by itself, will create abundance. So we see ourselves as stewards of this land. We will work with nature, using bio-mimicry, to create healthy, natural foods.
